While browsing for new art lessons for the elementary level, I stumbled upon Art With Mrs. Nguyen’s paper chameleon sculpture project. I decided to put together a video that I could use in my art room and also share online.

One of the best parts about turning lessons into videos is that it frees me up to help students as needed. I prefer taking on the role of facilitating learning and working one-on-one. It allows me to demonstrate each stage of the process once. Then, by playing segments of the video on loop, students are able to see the demonstration as many times as needed and work at their own pace. The best part–no one feels “behind” in their work, which often leads to rushing and frustration.

Being a master in educational technology, I spend my days putting out fires for other peoples' tech. The rest of the time, I'd rather be outside than staring at a screen. I'm an enigmatic genealogist with a penchant for photography, writing, and a love of the creative. Put the phone down and find me nestled in my garden or coasting around the shoreline. There's a whole world happening around you, if you look close enough.
